The downslope region of the Appalachian mountain range in North Carolina provides a unique ecosystem (one of the most biodiverse regions in the world!) that produces the conditions for making sourwood honey. Our sourwood bee yards are located in the heart of this area and have consistently yielded high quality sourwood honey for more than 15 years for us and for more than 60 years before that for our neighbor Glenn Wood who taught us how to make sourwood.
